I work from an attachment-based perspective to treat trauma in individuals. I see trauma as anything overwhelming the system for a person who either cannot escape, does not have enough support, or both. This looks different depending on a person’s developmental age at the time of trauma, which I strive to recognize and address with each person. I have training in Anchored Relational Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I incorporate elements of the Internal Family Systems model into my work to better address relational patterns occurring internally and externally. I also utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Polyvagal theory in my work. I have training and experience in addressing abuse and coercive control in relationships and family systems. I strive to validate clients’ experiences with empathy and curiosity to help them understand their emotions and behaviors from a systems perspective to promote healing and growth.
